I am Christine Jones, known to Ebayers as ‘writingcj’ since 2005, and I developed and own this site, which was originally my retirement hobby.
After more than 30 years in retail and marketing, I retired to Hobart, Tasmania in 2002. Retirement didn’t last long and by January 2003 I had joined the Australian Taxation Office.
Aware that the internet had affected sales for antique and collectables stores, and that a plethora of individual sites meant fewer opportunities to be noticed, the idea of an online antique centre where multiple dealers were on one site was born.
The reaction from dealers on the mainland has been phenomenal, with many of Australia’s best known dealers joining the site. Mark Linnertson will be taking over NSW and will assist me with Victoria.
